Pentatone is an audiophile label that has a very long track record in multichannel SACDs. This year they also have a release that is fighting for a Grammy trophy in the category Best Surround Sound Album, along with three releases from 2L, and Roger Waters's Amused to Death.

On the releases coming in february,  three of releases With have Music composed by Stravinsky, Vivaldi and Dvorak. The fourth release is in PENTATONE`s OXINGALE series, and has music performed by cellist Matt Heimovitz and the pianist Christopher O`Riley. Last year this duo recorded music ofcomposed by Beethoven. This time it appears to be more contemporary Music, and we are tempted to quote Heimovitz: "When we're in concert we go between Stravinsky and Radiohead, and then John McLaughlin and then some Bach and Ravel."

Igor Stravinsky - The Rite of Spring & The Firebird (Suite 1919)

Born in Colombia and trained in Vienna, he is one of the most sought-after conductors of his generation, currently holding not only the position of Chief Conductor in Frankfurt, but Also the position of Music Director of the Houston Symphony and Principal Guest Conductor with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Vivaldi - Bassoon Concertos 6

In t would be no exaggeration two name Antonio Vivaldi as the "pioneer of the bassoon concerto". Not only did he write what is thought to be the first ever solo concerto for bassoon, but during his lifetime he created Also- Reviews the largest group of works ever underwritten for the instrument until then: 39 solo concertos, all of excellent quality. We probably all know Antonín Dvořák's Slavonic Dances, his Symphonies or his chamber music, suchlike as the Dumky Trio or the American string quartet. This album however, reveals some of the more hidden treasures of his repertoire, namely five of his thirteen overtures. This album will be the fourth issue in the PENTATONE OXINGALE series. An out-of-the-box double SACD album with works for cello and piano, Performed by cellist Matt Haimovitz and pianist Christopher O'Riley, includingsuch a booklet containing an interview by way of liner notes. This 16-bit / 44.1 kHz stereo recording, will be available on SACD and in FLAC format. One of the discs contains classical music and the other contains pop music, arranged for cello and piano by Christopher O'Riley.
