Xavian Neox - new speaker series from Xavian
Written by Karl Erik SyltheThe Czech speaker manufacturer Xavian has launched a new speaker series. The name is NEOX.
Xavian was founded in 1996. They are located in the Czech Republic, and moved a year ago into a new factory on the outskirts of Prague. But Xavian is profiled as Czech-Italian since chief designer Roberto Barletta is Italian, and studied electronics in Turin.
Although Xavian is currently not represented in Norway, this is a brand that is well known for the Norwegian audiophile market. They were previously imported by Audiofoni at Karmøy, and was perhaps best known for their XN series, with rack- and floor standing speakers that had backward tilted front. But Mia series, which I have had for a number of years a set consisting of Mia II with associated center and subwoofer in one of my setups.

And it is tempting to regard the new NeEOX series as a further development of just the latter model series. Neox consists of four models. Floors speaker NEOX 2 is a 2.5-way design, with two 150mm element Scan Peak membrane of impregnated paper. Treble element is a 26mm impregnated soft dome from Xavian. The cabinet is hand made in 22mm MDF and is threefold where bottom section is prepared for sand filling.

Tripod speaker Neox 1 is a compact two-way bass reflex construction. Also this speaker uses 150mm Scan Peak in the midrange / woofer and a 26mm treble. Center speaker NEOXC1 uses the same elemnt as NEOX1 but has two 150mm elements instead of one in NEOX 1.

The subwoofer NEOXS1 represents a new construction principle fro subwoofers Xavian. It is a bass reflex design, but has in addition to the self-produced 260mm item also a slave bass sitting in the bottom. Hence the relatively high "legs".

All cabinets in NEOX series is handmade and is available in 6 different colors.
