Rega Aria Mk3 - renewed RIAA from the vinyl specialist Featured
Written by Karl Erik SyltheEver since the old flagship Phono stage EOS was launched in the 90s, separate phono stages have been important products for Rega. They have had RIAAs in several price ranges, from the very cheapest Fono Mini, which is a pure MM-RIAA, via lower middle class Fono, which comes in both MM and MC versions, to Aria. Until we get to the flagship models that currently comprise of Aura - a phono stage in the high HighEnd class that was launched in 2018.
Rega Aria
The first Rega Aria was launched in 2013, and then had a design with clear features to several other Rega HiFI components in the same price segment at the time. The first generation Brio is one of these products, an integrated amplifier we tested a few years ago. In 2018, a new edition of Rega Aria came, and this time the design had new lines, adapted to the new design line that came a year or two earlier, including an upgraded Brio , which we tested in 2018.

Rega Aria Mk3
A few days ago, Rega launched the third generation Aria. This has been redesigned in a metal cabinet, and has, among other things, clear commonalities with the new compact amplifier Rega io , which we wrote about in March. In fact, the amplifier io is notched less than the Aria Mk3. These are design lines that also bridge the most expensive components of Rega, such as the aforementioned flagship phono stage Aura.

Aria Mk3 is a combined MM / MC RIAA, and has separate inputs for MM and MC, and a front selector between them. Of course, there are dip-switches for load and gain for MC-PUs, with settings between 70 ohms and 400 ohms, and capacitive loads between 1000pF and 4200pF . These are preset for Rega's MC pickups. There are completely separate phono stages for MM and MC, and the MC stage has a self-adjusting servo control to keep the MC circuit optimized, where it compensates for variations in operating temperature. The input sensitivity can be adjusted by 6dB on the back.
We do not yet know the price in Norway on the Rega Aria Mk3, but the predecessor costs NOK 11.995, -.
Rega is imported to Norway by Mono AS
