RECORD NEWS. Challenge Records - 2 new releases on SACD

Among Challenge Records` upcoming releases we find two SACDs. It's On The Spot with Calefax, and Symphonies nos. 1-8 of Hartmann.

Just before Christmas we reported on the upcoming SACD Violin Concertos with Linus Roth . Now there is more news on in SACD format.

On The Spot is a meeting between a versatile classical wind quintet Calefax and the classically trained jazz trumpeter Eric Vloeimans. The latter has an extensive track record and has among others cooperation with the Scandinavians Lars Danielsson, Lars Erik Gudim and Bugge Wesseltoft.
Musical On The Spot is also a border meeting, where classical music meets jazz.

The second release is a triple SACD with the German composer Karl Amadeus Hartmann. He lived from 1905 to 1963 and is regarded by many as the foremost German composer of the last century. This despite the fact that not as familiar as he perhaps should have been. In addition to operas he has written symphonies Maad / concerts and chamber music. The Challenge Rexords` publication is a compilation of his eight symphonies, all written after 1945.
