RECORD NEWS: The Avison Ensemble - Corelli. New release from Linn Records.

The Avison Ensemble releases new multi-channel SADC on Linn Records. The music is Corelli: Opus 1 & 3: Church Sonatas.

The Avison Ensemble has released records on Linn Records since 2010. This is the sixth in the series of recordings of music from the 17th and 18th century, which is The Avison Ensemble`s specialization. Three of the earlier recordings are also chamber music by Corelli, with Opus 1 & 3 ending this series as complete, as a celebration of the 300th anniversary of his death in 2013.

Opus 1 and 3 are church sonatas composed respectively in 1681 and 1689. The release is a Hybrid Multichannel SACD which of course also has a stereo track. The release is also available as a download, with resolution up to 24 bit / 192 kHz. Release date is set to 21 April 2014.
