Chord Electronic with innovative streamer configuration. And no, it's not the number of 2`s in the names we're aiming at.
Hugo 2 is a compact DAC from Chord Electronics that was originally launched in 2014. And in 2017, the successor Hugo 2 was launched in a slightly more compact cabinet, although it is still a bit over the edge to define it as a pocket DAC in the traditional sense . But with its 450 grams, weight is not the problem.

Hugo 2 has a capacity of up to 32bit / 768kHz via mini-USB and dual headphone outputs in addition to coax and optical digital inputs, theflexibiity isn`t lacking onf the Hugo 2. On the other hand, it lacks an integrated streamer solution.
2go
The last point is now resolved by Chord Electronics with the streamer 2go. This compact device has both of the two features missing from Hugo 2 - a streamer and WiFi. And to top it all, 4TB of internal storage is offered via card slots for 2 pcs. micro SD card, each of 2 terrabytes.
As a wireless solution, 2go has 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and A2DP Bluetooth. This is a supplement to wired ethernet. Airplay is also supported. Chord Electronics emphasizes that 2go has auto switching between the wireless inputs on incoming signal.
Of power services, TIDAL and Qobuz are present along with Internet radio. In addition, they are working on Spotify as an update solution. For some, it will be crucial that 2go supports Roon.
Coupling
We waved been praging with "innovative streamer configuration". And it is in connection with, among other things, Hugo 2 that this innovation lies. We may well define 2go as a modular unit, that cannot work alone. It has no digital outputs since its primary life task is to be connected to a Hugo 2. And this is via a kind of docking connection, where a dual min-USB is complemented by a form of mechanical locking that Chord Electronics did not initially explain.

2yu
But not everyone owns a Hugo 2, but maybe another good DAC. Then they would have a problem with connecting the streamer 2go to this DAC, since 2go has no conventional digital outputs. Here comes the second newcomer from Chord Electronics storming in as a rescuer. This is a digital interface whose only life task is to serve a 2go with connection to the public. 2yu has a similar docking solution as Hugo 2, and can thus be paired with 2go in a similar symbiosis as 2go / Hugo 2.
Chord Electronics is imported to Norway by Mono AS.
