Spotify has gained a dominant position in people's music habits. This commitment, and Spotify has launched an innovation that will provide improved user interface.
It is nothing new that mobilephones and tablets can use Spotify - this has been going on for a long time. The thing about Spotify Connect is that the music will now be streamed directly from the streaming receiver or amplifier. Mobile phone will only work as a controller, the assistance same way as it does on UPnP. That is, choosing music and press play on your mobile device, so while this gives a message to the streaming device to bring the music directly from the source - Spotify.
The advantages of this are several. The mobile phone does not use electricity while it flows, and it is available for other purposes. Perhaps equally important is that you do not depend on the bandwidth to the mobile device, but ultimately you can use the wired connection for the flow itself. Not a bad trait at a time when some of us drooling for higher resolution of flow services.
Spotify Connect requires special preparation on Hardware since the units will be responsible for the flow itself. There are already 10 manufacturers whose products are approved for Spotify Connect, and more are on the way. The 10 companies are Argon, Bang & Olufsen, Denon, Hama, Marantz, Philips, Pioneer, Revo, Teufel and Yamaha.
