P 3100 HV - New flagship preamplifier from T+A Featured

Written by

T+A has launched an heir to its ultimate pre-amplifier P 3000 HV. The new model P 3100 HV is confusingly similar to its predecessor. But that's on the outside ...

The HV series is the flagship series for T+A. In this series we find streamers, SACD players, preamps, integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers and power supplies. And all the components are in the department. six-digit amounts (NOK). Here, T+A has brought out its highest level of expertise.

Did you know that T+A stands for Theory and Application . Or actually Theorie und Anwendung , for T+A heads to Herford, a short hour south-west of Hanover in Germany.

T+A P 3100 HV

The manufacturer has not found reason to change the exterior of the new P 3100 HV. The name is the only visible change from the predecessor P 3000 HV. And there was strictly no urgent need for design change.

Inside, however, there are quite significant changes compared to the predecessor. The concept has been preserved here as well, but there are significant upgrades in the preamplifier stages. In addition, according to T+A, the over-dimensioned ring core transformer has become even larger.

Inputs and outputs

The design of the T+A P 3100 HV is fully balanced. This means that it has both RCA and XLR inputs and outputs, respectively. 7 RCA inputs and 4 XLR inputs

One of the inputs can be configured as HT bypass. Then the fixed level can also be pre-configured. T+A will of course be found in our exclusive list of amplifiers and HT bypass.

The 3100 HV also has a headphone jack in the front. It is 50 Ohm and T+A specifies that it can be used for headphones of at least 32 Ohm.

T+A is imported to Norway by Oslo Hi-Fi Center
