RECORD NEWS: Mozart - Violin Concertos Nos. 3, 4 & 5 on SACD Penta Tone Classics.

The Dutch record label PentaTone Classics has made a recording with Arabella Steinbacher, where she plays Mozart's last three violin concertos. The release is on multi-channel SACD.

Arabelle Steinbacher is joined by conductor Daniel Dodds who directs the Festival Strings Lucerne.

Mozart's violin concertos no. 3, 4 and 5 are the most popular of his violin concertos, and previously recorded by, among others Trondheimsolistene, with Marianne Thorsen as soloist. We reviewed a record by 2L, which you may read here.

Arabella Steinbacher has had a nearly lifelong relationship with Mozart's violin concertos, and rehearsed no.4 at the age of eight. Nevertheless, she has not had the opportunity to make a recording of this on (SA) CD until now. Release date is set to 05/01/2014.

The 15.06.2014 will also be an opportunity to hear both Arabella Steinbacher and Festival Strings Lucerne led by Daniel Dodds live, in a performance of Mozart's Divertimento in D major and Violin Concerto no.4. It requires that you take the trip to Luzerne
