PM7005 - new amplifier with USB DAC from Marantz.

Written by

Marantz launch new amplifier with USB DAC. The name is PM7005.

We wrote about Marantz's new integrated amplifier PM8005 in December , and on the smaller PM6005 in August 2013. Now Marantz is introducing a new amplifier that puts itself between these - Marantz PM7005. It replaces the obvious predecessor PM7004, although Marantz has chosen to lower the stated effect with 10 watts from 70 to 60 watts per. channel into 8 ohms.

There PM7005 differs from both the smaller PM6005 and PM8005 brother, is that it has been built DAC. Nothing unique grip for an integrated amplifier in 2014, but as far as we know this is the first amp in Marantz`s range. It follows in a way in the footsteps of the CD player SA8005, the natural partner of the PM8005. SA8005 also has an asynchronous USB DAC, which like the DAC in PM7005 is able to play the DSD to 2.8 and 5.6 MHz, and PCM until 24bits/192kHz. In addition to the USB input, you get the P7005 one coaxial and one optical digital input. There is also a separate driver for windows installed in your PC that allows P7005 acts as a sound card for the PC.

In addition to the digital inputs are four common analog inputs, and an input for turntable that takes MM pickups. Marantz PM8005 was the first amplifier from Marantz that could gain entry in our unique directory of amplifiers with processor input (HT Bypass) . This is sadly not continued the PM7005.

Price in Norway is not yet known.
