Primare with update to Bluetooth aptX

Written by

Primare launch update to aptX for four of their products. The solution involves a minor HW update.

Those who have a Primare preamplifier of the category PRE32 or PRE60, the integrated amplifier I32 or streamer NP30 have the opportunity to an upgrade to include the new aptX Bluetooth module. Admittedly it is required for PRE32 and I32 that they are equipped with the network module MM30.

Physically the upgrade consists of a small additional module internally, + a bluetooth antenna mounted on the rear panel. Primare otherwise has a solution which according to them selves deviates from the ordinary, in that they instead of using a DAC on the aptX-module, sends the signal on to the unit`s DACs, having first had an upconversion to 192kHz.

Bluetooth upgrade is integrated in Primare`s own "PrimareApp", where software update is controlled.

Product features

- Supports aptX, AAC, MP3 for high quality Bluetooth audio.

- The upgrade comes with an external antenna for better reception.

- The Primare BT Upgrade is a receiver only. The incoming signal is fed to the product's SRC, is up-sampled two 192kHz and simply runs through the product's high performance DAC.

- Installation is easy; softwareupdate ice through the PrimareApp or from the MENU.

- BT input is added to the product MENU BT input name and the Bluetooth name are editable.

- OLED display will show device name.

- If the device supports AAC or aptX it will pop up on the OLED display.
