RECORD NEWS: Two new Pure Audio Blu-ray from Sono Luminus.
Written by Karl Erik SyltheSono Luminus release two new recordings in the format Pure Audio Blu-ray.
We start with Zoforbit, recorded by the piano duo Zofo. The duo consists of Eva-Maria Zimmermann and Keisuke Nakagoshi, and they have specialized in piano recordings for four hands, performed on just one piano! This is the third recording with Sono Luminus, where the other two were respectively CD & Pure Audio Blu-ray.
The first CD - Mind Meld - were recordings of music composed by Bernstein, Shapero, Debussy and Stravinsky, played with four hands on one piano.
The second release was the Pure Audio Blu-ray, with music by George Gershwin, Conlon Nancarrow, Allen Shawn, Samuel Barber, John Corigliano and Paul Schoenfield in interpretations infuert of different music genres.
On the upcoming release Zoforbit outer space is the theme. Here we find the four-handed transcriptions of works The Milky way by Urmas Sisask, The Planets by Gustav Holst, Celestial Mechanics by George Crumb and Gravity by David Lang.
Zoforbit is a release on Pure Audio Blu-ray, with tracks in stereo LPCM 24bit/192kHz and multichannel DTS HD MA at 24/192 in 5.0 and 24/96 in 7.0. In good Sono Luminus tradition, it also follows a normal CD, as well as tracks can be downloaded free of charge for the costumers via mShuttle.
Release Date for Zoforbit is May 27.

This is the second release at Sono Luminus with his music - the first was the release Chamber Works by Mohammed Fairouz. But Fairouz has written music in widely varying formats, and this release is his third symphony recorded.
The Pure Audio Blu-ray disc contains both 2.0 LPCM in 24 bits 96 kHz and DTS HD MA in 24bit / 96kHz in 5.0 and 7.0.
