RECORD NEWS: 2l - Magnificat - Pure Audio Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos and Auro-3D

Nidaros Cathedral Girls' Choir and the Trondheim Soloists made ​​a recording in the cathedral together with Morten Lindberg and 2L. There are three younger composers who created the music.

Trondheim Soloists has developed a long CV 2L. This time they have joined Nidaros Cathedral Girls' Choir, and the venue is the very cathedral. And there are three mostly younger composers who created the music.

The main work Magnificat was commissioned, written for Nidaros Cathedral Girls' Choir, conducted by Anita Brevik. Composer Kim André Arnesen was born in 1980, and focuses primarily on choral music. But he also release piano music.

Musica Celestis is composed by Aaron Jay Kernis (1960), an American composer living in New York. In developing Musica Celestis Kernis was inspired by Hildegard von Bingen.

Ola Geilo is also an old acquaintance from 2`s releases. Here he moves in a different landscape than on most of these albums, but he has also made ​​a lot of music for choir earlier. In the work Tundra ,  the American poet Charles Anthony Silvestri twrote the lyrics, while Walt Whitman made ​​the text of the Song of the Universal.

Magnificat is a major milestone in the releases of 3D sound and is the first Blu-ray that contains both formats Auro-3D and Dolby Atmos. We have written about this earlier in the summer, and you may read it here . It is also a dual-disc release, with SACD and Pure Audio Blu-ray.

Release is set for October 2014.
