In California we find the manufacturer NuPrime, which is a sister company to the more familiar NuForce. They are both founded by Jason Lim and NuPrime was spun off to protect the premium segment within HiFi-production.
Already NuPrime have the integrated amplifier IDA-16, and the power amplifier ST-10. The latter is at 2x150 watts, while the integrated big brother to IDA_8 delivers 2x200w into 8 ohms. In addition to the fact that NuPrime has taken over some amp models from NuForce, NuPrime also has a few DACs in the assortment.
NuPrime IDA-8 is a hybrid amplifier operating in class A + D, and NuPrime claims that this will combine the warm sound to the Class-A amplifiers. while having efficiency of Class-D operation. NuPrime`s class-D stage switches at over 600kHz, while the ordinary is below 300kHz. IDA-8 is providing 2x100W into 8 ohms.
In addition to having an analog RCA input, there is a built-in DAC and coax-, optical and USB digital inputs. The DAC in IDA-8 supports PCM with a sampling frequency of 384kHz via USB, and DSD256.
The volume control is an attenuator, with increments of 0,5dB. You can adjust sensitivity individually for each input with a variable gain offset.
A set of pre-out is aimed for a subwoofer, and has a signal strength of 6V.
