Yamaha ready for Atmos update

Written by

In June Yamaha pre-announced  that they will provide update to Dolby Atmos in its two top receivers. Now they deliver the goods.

There are the two top models RX-A2040 and RX-A3040 which this time will have the opportunity for a firmware update that provides Dolby Atmos. It is Yamaha's German website that publish this news.

The smaller of these two receivers RX-A2040 provides an opportunity for Atmos setup which is limited to 5.2.2, while the top model RX-A3040 allows 5.2.4 or 7.2.2 without using external power amplifiers, and 7.2.4 if one adds a two-channel external power amplifier.
