NS-SW1000 - new flagship subwoofer from Yamaha

Written by

Yamaha introduces new subwoofer in the HighEnd segment. NS-SW1000 will be suitable for both HiFi and home cinema.

Yamaha already has a number of subwoofers in their range, from the very affordable to top model Soavo-900SW. NS-SW1000 is the company's new flagship model, and as its name indicates holds an amplifier of 1 kW. It has a further development of Yamaha's YST to what Yamaha call YST II (Yamaha Active Servo Technology II).

The cabinet should be very stiff, and weighs 19kg. It is built of 36mm MDF on baffel sides and 25mm MDF on the other sides.

There is developed a bass port that Yamaha call Twisted Flare Port, and is constructed to diffuse the air flow, thus reducing port noise.

Yamaha has developed a brand new 300mm woofer for NS-SW1000. It has membrane made of paper with Kevlar fibers.

The cabinet is made in three different finishes - black, high gloss black and high gloss white. The cabinet is costly in terms of being able to fit together with a HighEnd music setup.

Yamaha NS-SW1000 comes from June 2015.05.27
